The Making of the Tide Seeker: From Concept to Coastline
When we started Bower, we didn’t set out to make just another watch. We wanted to build something that felt genuinely useful for life near the water, something that would feel at home on the wrist of a surfer, a sailor, or anyone who keeps an eye on the tide.
The Tide Seeker is our response to that itch.
Designed in Australia, Informed by the Ocean
We spent a decade on the north shore of Sydney, surrounded by beaches, rock pools, and changing tides. That environment shaped every aspect of this watch. Tracking tides wasn’t just a novelty; it was essential. But it also had to look good enough to wear daily, whether in the water or walking into a meeting.
So, we merged the formality of a dress watch with the functionality of a field tool. Something clean and legible but with a clear purpose.
The Semidiurnal Tide Hand
At the core of the Tide Seeker is a dedicated tide hand that tracks the semidiurnal rhythm—two high tides and two low tides every lunar day. It’s subtle and quiet, but once you start using it, it becomes part of your rhythm.
We didn’t want to rely on digital screens or tide tables. Instead, we created something mechanical and elegant that provides you with just enough information without requiring anything in return.
Built for Real Life
We chose a 100m water-resistant stainless steel case, Swiss quartz movement, and tough crystal. The Lume is sharp, and the dials are textured because we wanted the watch to feel tactile and grounded. We carefully selected every detail to make the watch feel considered yet never precious. It’s not trying to shout. It’s trying to serve.
Why It Matters
We know we’re not the first to build a Tide watch, but we believe the Tide Seeker is one of the only ones that balances simplicity, purpose, and design. It’s not built for data collectors or hobbyist divers; It’s for people who live around the ocean and move with the tide.
Whether planning a morning paddle or just wanting to feel more connected to natural rhythms, the Tide Seeker is built for you.
