How to set the tide on the Bower Tide Seeker
What You’ll Need
- A Tide Seeker watch
- A toothpick or similar soft, sturdy tool (avoid anything sharp or metal)
- Access to a tide chart (we recommend tideschart.com, it’s simple and global)
Step 1: Find Your Local Tide Info
Head to tideschart.com, willyweather, or any tide chart website available around your area. Search for your location. Look for the next high or low tide time, whichever comes first.
Let’s say it’s currently 3 PM, and the last low tide was at 2PM. We are now one hour after low tide.
Now take a look at your watch bezel: it’s marked with hour intervals around the dial's outer edge. You’ll want to line up the tide hand with the “1” marker after the low tide text (which is aligned with the 6 o’clock marker on your watch face). That tells the watch: “Low tide was one hour ago.”
You’re not waiting for a high or low to set the watch (though it is simpler if you do); you’re just setting the tide hand to reflect the current tide level.
Step 2: Press the Recessed Pusher
On the side of your Tide Seeker, you’ll find a small recessed button (this is the Tide-set pusher). It’s intentionally recessed, so it doesn’t get pressed by accident.
Use your toothpick or tool to press and hold the pusher gently. After about 1 second, the tide hand starts moving. Release it when the hand matches the current tide state from the chart.
That’s it, your watch is now synced with your local tide.
Recheck Monthly
Because the lunar cycle shifts slightly every few weeks, we recommend checking and realigning your tide setting about once a month. It only takes a minute and will keep your tide tracking accurate.
⚠️ Always consult an official tide chart before heading out on open water.
The Tide Seeker is designed as a general guide to the rhythm of the tides — it does not replace real-time navigation or safety tools. When conditions matter, always check local tide and weather data from a trusted source.
